History

Originally acquired by Eric Clapton during his time with iconic supergroup Cream. Eric Clapton used his 1958 Gibson Les Paul custom throughout the end of the 1960s with both Cream and Delany Bonnie and Friends which also featured Clapton's long time friend George Harrison who also used the instrument for several performances. In the 1970s Eric Clapton became friends with British guitar virtuoso Albert Lee and quickly Albert became part of Eric band. in 1979 Eric Gifted the 1958 Gibson Les Paul to Albert after Albert had regretted selling a Les Paul Custom of his own several years earlier. Albert has been the custodian of the original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom since then and we are now pleased to offer Gibsons faithful recreation of this iconic instrument which connects some of the world's most iconic guitarists.
