History

Throughout the 30 plus years that the Yngwie Malmsteen YJM Signature Stratocaster  has been offered, the Sonic Blue option has always been made available... The Maestro's love for that color and inspiration for offering a YJM model in that color began when he sought out and procured this special guitar in his homeland of Sweden back in 1983. This guitar became a mainstay in Yngwie's recording and touring arsenal through the album cycles for Marching Out, Trilogy and Odyssey and beyond... This guitar has literally seen countless studio hours as well as hundreds of shows, including larger festivals such as Day on The Green in 1985.

Personal Modifications

This special Stratocaster was  modded and tweaked to The Maestro's specifications down to the signature scalloped neck with jumbo frets  originally done by Yngwie the first go, and then again later by his late and most trusted luthier, Larry Lashbrook. It is stocked with DiMarzio JYMDP217 single coil pickups, a 3 position switch, disconnected tone pots and brass nut.
